11:14 AM EST, 11/20/2023 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts started the week moderately higher in Monday trading, rising 0.65% to 1,232.05 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT) and 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET), which rose 5.8% and 3.4%, respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA) 3.3% and 3.1%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Biophytis (BPTS) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP), which lost 8% and 6.9%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Calliditas Therapeutics (CALT) and DBV Technologies (DBVT), which fell 3.3% and 3.1%, respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm (TCBP) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics (SLN), which surged 18% and 9.8%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and software firm Endava (DAVA), which rose 4.8% and 4%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN) and construction makerials supplier CRH (CRH), which fell 1.9% and 1.5%, respectively. They were followed by insurance firm Prudential (PUK) and financial services company Barclays (BCS), which were down 1.2% and 0.8%, respectively.
