11:20 AM EST, 02/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending slightly higher in Friday's trading session, rising 0.17% to 1,308.06 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index, which is set to end the week up about 0.8%.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech (EVAX) and 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET), which rose 5.4% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which were up 2.2% and 2.1% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP), which fell 7.2% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Nokia (NOK) and furniture manufacturer Natuzzi (NTZ), which dropped 2.3% and 2.2% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm (TCBP) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which advanced 29% and 14.8% respectively. They were followed by biotech firms Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which increased 7.4% and 4.8% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and tobacco company British American Tobacco (BTI), which lost 4.7% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by insurance firm Prudential (PUK) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which were down 2.4% and 1.2% respectively.
