11:11 AM EDT, 03/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending slightly higher late Wednesday morning, rising 0.18% to 1,370.27 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which rose 5.1% and 3.1%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Calliditas Therapeutics (CALT) and Genfit (GNFT), which increased 2.7% and 2.6%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firms Biophytis (BPTS) and Evaxion Biotech (EVAX), which fell 10% and 4.2%, respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO), which dropped 4.1% and 1.3%, respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm (TCBP) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which rose 4.9% and 4.2%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics (SLN), which were up 3% and 2.6%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and financial services company HSBC (HSBC), which were down 1.8% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA), which lost 1.2% and 1.1% respectively.
