11:08 AM EDT, 04/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were treading water in Thursday morning session, nudging 0.006% higher to 1,330.06 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which rose 8.5% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by internet advertising firm Criteo (CRTO) and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which increased 3% and 2.3% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical companies Sanofi (SNY) and Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which fell 1.1% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Eni (E) and telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which were off 0.7% and 0.6% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm (TCBP) and Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC), which advanced 8.9% and 8.4% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and software company Endava (DAVA), which rose 3.3% and 2.9% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which lost 6.8% and 4.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which dropped 1.6% each.
