Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Fall Again in Friday Trading

10:52 AM EDT, 04/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending lower Friday morning, declining 0.69% to 1,786.62 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index. The index is poised to close out the week about 5% lower.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by online game developer The9 (NCTY), which rose 1.7%, followed by advertising agency iClick Interactive Asia Group (ICLK) and computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which increased 3.3% and 2.6% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by travel company Tuniu (TOUR), which fell 9.4%, followed by pet-focused platform Boqii (BQ) and automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe (TC), which were down 0.6% and 7.5% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firms Wipro (WIT) and Infosys (INFY), which increased 3.3% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which was up 2%.

The decliners from South Asia were led by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and biotech firm ASLAN Pharmaceuticals (ASLN), which were off 1% and 1.7% respectively.
