In continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer companies Materialise (MTLS) and voxeljet (VJET), which climbed 12% and 7.5% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company ERYTECH Pharma (ERYP) and financial services firm ING (ING), which rose 4.5% and 3.9%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ) and biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP), which were down 4.4% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by insurance firm Trean Insurance Group, Inc. (TIG) and pharmaceutical company Sanofi (SNY), which lost 2% and 1.4%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by cruise line operator Carnival Corporation & plc (CUK) and airplane lessor Fly Leasing Limited (FLY), which rose 6.1% and 6% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and bank Barclays (BCS), which increased 5.1% and 4.4%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by data and analytics provider RELX PLC (RELX) and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AZN), which lost 2% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by mining company Barrick Gold Corporation (GOLD) and biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR), which were off 0.9% and 0.5%.
