In continental Europe, the gainers were led by hotel booking site trivago (TRVG) and financial services firm ING (ING), which rose 6.8% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and automation company ABB Ltd. (ABB), which increased 2.1% and 1.5%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which fell 8.2% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by financial services company Credit Suisse Group (CS) and semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (STM), which dropped 3% and 2.9%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and cruise line operator Carnival Corporation (CUK), which rose 3.2% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by mining company Barrick Gold Corporation (GOLD) and insurance firm Prudential (PUK), which were up 2.2% and 2%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which fell 2.4% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and airline operator Ryanair Holdings (RYAAY), which dropped 1.2% each.
