In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies (DBVT) and Grifols (GRFS), which rose 7.3% and 3.5%, respectively. They were followed by insurance firm Trean Insurance Group (TIG) and telecommunications company VEON Ltd. (VEON), which increased 1.9% and 1.4%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and internet browser company Opera Ltd. (OPRA), which fell 14% and 5.2%, respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Zealand Pharma (ZEAL) and telecommunications company Nokia (NOK), which dropped 5% and 4.8%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by oil and gas company BP (BP) and biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC), which rose 1% and 0.7%, respectively. They were followed by tobacco and consumer goods company British American Tobacco (BTI) and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were each up 0.3%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma (VRNA) and MorphoSys AG (MOR), which lost 8.3% and 6.8%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which were down 6.3% and 6.2%.
