European ADRs Move Lower in Wednesday Trading

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by dating app operator Spark Networks (LOV) and biopharmaceutical company Biofrontera (BFRA), which climbed 18% and 14% respectively. They were followed by biotech Cellectis (CLLS) and 3D printers developer Materialise (MTLS), which rose 4.2% and 2.2%.

The heaviest decliners in continental Europe were display technology provider VIA optronics (VIAO) and fingerprint sensors supplier IDEX Biometrics (IDBA), down 9.4% and 7.4% respectively. Steelmaker ArcelorMittal (MT) dropped 3% and vaccine developer BioNTech (BNTX) fell 2.4%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies MorphoSys (MOR) and Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO), which rose 4.5% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by biotechs

Verona Pharma (VRNA) and Autolus Therapeutics plc (AUTL), which were up 2.9% and 2.2%.

The top decliners in the UK and Ireland were insurer Prudential (PUK) and bank holding company Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which lost 1.5% each. They were followed by British American Tobacco (BTI) and drugmaker AstraZeneca (AZN), which were down 1.1% and 1% respectively.
