07:54 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European bourses tracked higher midday Tuesday as traders waded back into tech shares, and monitored modestly easing crude prices and bond yields.

Bank stocks also led gains on continental trading floors, while oil shares lagged.

The pan-continental Stoxx Europe 600 Index was up 0.6% mid-session.

Separately, AI modeler Anthropic's confidential IPO filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed a possible $2 trillion market cap, reported Reuters, citing a copy of the prospectus the news service reviewed.

Helping continental sentiments, front-month North Sea Brent crude-oil futures were down 1.2% at $96.54 a barrel, while yields on benchmark 10-year German bonds reduced slightly to near 3.59%, in midday action.

Investors also eyed muted Wall Street futures, and largely lower closes overnight on Asian exchanges.

In economic news, Spain's consumer price index rose 4.9% on-year in September, rising from 4.3% in August, the National Statistics Institute (INE) reported.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Technology Index was up 2.5% in midday trades, and the Stoxx 600 Banks Index gained 0.7%.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Oil and Gas Index eased 1.2%, while the Stoxx 600 Europe Food and Beverage Index declined 0.8%.

The REITE, a European REIT index, rose 0.5%.

On the national market indexes, Germany's DAX was up 0.8%, and the FTSE 100 in London gained 0.4%. The CAC 40 in Paris was up 0.3%, and Spain's IBEX 35 lifted 0.8%.

The Euro Stoxx 50 volatility index was down 2.8% at 17.35, indicating below-average volatility for European stock markets in the next 30 days, a positive signal. A reading above 20 indicates choppier markets ahead, while below 20 suggests calmer exchanges.
