Shares of ASML (ASML) rose 1.1% midday after the Dutch semiconductor-manufacturing equipment maker reported fiscal Q3 earnings above expectations, missed on revenue, and issued guidance roughly in line with analyst outlooks. The company said it would be unable to fully meet demand for its photolithography systems.
The pan-continental Stoxx Europe 600 Index was up 0.5% mid-session.
Property and food stocks led broad gains on continental trading floors, while bank shares lagged.

Investors also eyed mixed and muted Wall Street futures, and choppy closes overnight on Asian exchanges.
In economic news, European households could face difficulty paying heating bills through winter as fuel prices remain high, European Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen warned, reported The Copenhagen Post.
In the sectors, the Stoxx Europe 600 Technology Index was up 0.6%, and the Stoxx 600 Banks Index lost 0.4% in midday moves.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Oil and Gas Index rose 0.6%, while the Stoxx 600 Europe Food and Beverage Index inclined 1%.

The Euro Stoxx 50 volatility index was down 3.3% at 18.06, indicating below-average volatility for European stock markets in the next 30 days, a positive signal. A reading above 20 indicates choppier markets ahead, while below 20 suggests calmer exchanges.
