07:52 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European bourses tracked moderately higher midday Monday as traders weighed easing crude prices and relatively stable bond yields.

The pan-continental Stoxx Europe 600 Index was up 0.4% mid-session.

Bank and tech stocks led gains on continental trading floors, while oil and food shares lagged.

Yields on 10-year French government bonds edged down to 4.98% after credit-rating agency Moody's (MCO) kept its score on the nation unchanged at Aa3, but also retained its "negative outlook" on French debt.

Brent crude-oil futures were down 1.8% to $111.64 a barrel, in midday trends.

Investors also eyed Wall Street futures in the green, and mixed closes overnight on Asian exchanges.

On the economics front, the European Central Bank is slated to make an interest-rate announcement on Thursday, though the market expects the bank to hold its key rate steady at 2.50%.

In economic news, Germany's business climate index rose to 90.2 in October from 89.9 in September, the Institute for Economic Research (Ifo) reported.

In the sectors, the Stoxx Europe 600 Technology Index was up 0.6%, and the Stoxx 600 Banks Index gained 0.8% in mid-session action.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Oil and Gas Index eased 1.5%, while the Stoxx 600 Europe Food and Beverage Index declined 0.8%.

The REITE, a European REIT index, rose 0.5%.

On the national market indexes, Germany's DAX was up 0.8%, and the FTSE 100 in London gained 0.5%. The CAC 40 in Paris was up 0.7%, but Spain's IBEX 35 fell 0.2%.

Yields on benchmark 10-year German bonds were higher, near 3.37%.

The Euro Stoxx 50 volatility index was up 7.2% at 21.89, indicating above-average volatility for European stock markets in the next 30 days, a negative signal. A reading above 20 indicates choppier markets ahead, while below 20 suggests calmer exchanges.
