06:42 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European bourses tracked higher midday Wednesday as traders digested an apparent pending Democratic Party takeover of the US Congress from the GOP, and weighed easing crude bills.

The pan-continental Stoxx Europe 600 Index was up 1.4% mid-session.

Bank and property stocks led broad gains on continental trading floors.

Brent crude-oil futures were down 1.2% to $102.3 a barrel, in midday trades.

Investors also eyed Wall Street futures flashing green, but mixed closes overnight on Asian exchanges.

In economic news, the Eurozone consumer price index is expected to rise 4% on year in October, up from 3.8% in September, Eurostat reported. Energy bills led prices higher, said the agency.

In the sectors, the Stoxx Europe 600 Technology Index was up 0.7%, and the Stoxx 600 Banks Index gained 4.2%.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Oil and Gas Index rose 0.5%, while the Stoxx 600 Europe Food and Beverage Index also inclined 0.5%.

The REITE, a European REIT index, rose 1%.

On the national market indexes, Germany's DAX was up 1.5%, and the FTSE 100 in London gained 1.2%. The CAC 40 in Paris was up 1.45%, and Spain's IBEX 35 lifted 2.7%.

Yields on benchmark 10-year German bonds were higher, near 3.33%.

The Euro Stoxx 50 volatility index was down 9.5% at 19.06, indicating below-average volatility for European stock markets in the next 30 days, a positive signal. A reading above 20 indicates choppier markets ahead, while below 20 suggests calmer exchanges.
