07:13 AM EDT, 08/12/2019 (MT Newswires) -- The Shanghai Composite index jumped 40 points, or 1.5%, to 2,815 on Monday despite ongoing trade concerns after U.S. President Trump said on Friday that Washington would continue talks with Beijing but was "not ready" to make a trade deal for now, said Trading Economics. Other stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed mixed: the Kospi gained 5 points, or 0.2%, to 1,942 and the S&P/ASX 200 added 6 points, or 0.1%, to 6,590; while the Hang Seng index fell 17 points, or 0.1%, to 25,922. Markets in Japan, India and Singapore were closed for public holidays.
