Automobile Stocks Drop Following Trump Tariffs

05:57 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor (TM) General Motors (GM), Ford Motor (F), Honda Motor (HMC), and Stellantis (STLA) shares were down in premarket trading on Thursday following US President Donald Trump's imposition of a 25% tariff on imported cars and auto parts.

Shares of General Motors were down 6.6%, Ford nearly 3%, Toyota and Honda around 2%, and Stellantis 0.5%.

Trump said the tariffs on the imports will come into effect April 2.
